March 2 (Lunar calendar: January 22 ), 2024 Saturday | Dawnxisoul393art
International Rescue Cat Day is celebrated on March 2nd. For many centuries, cats have been intertwined with human history. Domesticated thousands of years ago, cats can do more than just catch mice. They are good companions for many people, providing affection and love. Most domesticated cats are valued by humans as companions, especially those who work from home and those who live in flats.
In general, animal rescue organisations play an important role in the community by reuniting lost pets with their owners, providing shelter for homeless pets and offering pets a new home. Every year there are countless homeless cats and kittens waiting and hoping for a family to take them in and love them. March 2 is a day to raise awareness of this reality and to bring humans into a life-giving and loving relationship with these lovely creatures.
Many times, cats suddenly find themselves without a home. Sometimes beloved female cats become pregnant and give birth, but kittens are brought into shelters by families who are unable to care for them. We need to pay special attention to the plight of those cats who need a home and a family to care for them. This day is a great time to give us the opportunity to be better citizens of the planet and help those little creatures who simply cannot help themselves.
Get involved in the day with some ideas, including considering adopting a cat. Adopting a cat is an ideal way to commemorate this day. Of course, adopting a cat is a lifelong affair, so be sure to make your decision in a thoughtful way. When adopting a cat, it is important to consider the family dynamic. Families with children need to make sure that their new cat is child-friendly.
In addition, any family that already has a pet should make sure that any other pets get along well with the new cat. Those who cannot take care of cats for various reasons can still participate in this day's activities, learn more about organizations supporting cats and know some cat owners or an excellent veterinarian, which may be very interesting.
This is a painting we painted with oil pastels for this day, to commemorate and support this special day in our way. Have an awesome “International Rescue Cat Day” everyone. Cheers!
