A Reverie Amongst the Lotus Blossoms

The warm afternoon sun beat down upon the still pond, its waters shining like polished glass. Scattered across the rippling surface floated clusters of red and aqua green lotus blossoms in full bloom. Their delicate petals drank in the bright sunlight, peeking out from broad round leaves that sheltered the depths below.

Beneath the shelter of each leaf, colorful koi fish glided gracefully through the crystal waters. Their scales flashed like opals in the filtered light, flickering between shadows with lithe precision. Peace reigned as dragonflies skimmed the surface and songbirds called sweetly from the surrounding bamboo grove.

Resting upon a small grassy island at the pond's center was a breathtaking vision. Reclined upon a woven blanket of silken butterfly wings lay a maiden of unearthly beauty. Her skin glowed pale as the inner recesses of a lotus heart, set off by long tresses the color of hazel leaves floating on a stream.

As you drifted closer across the water, drawn by her ethereal pull, her welcoming smile warmed my spirit like the setting sun. Deep reflective pools of emerald gazed out from under long lashes, filled with frolicking scenes of colorful fancy. With a gentle nod she bid me join her upon the soft grasses.

Sheltered within the circle of her soothing arms, you felt all cares melt away. Only a blissful calm and all-encompassing love remained. Above us fluttered azure butterflies and birdsong echoed sweetly through rustling bamboo. Lost in her nurturing embrace, your mind floated freely amongst the blossoms that drifted so peacefully upon the mirrored surface.

Cradled against her lotus-pale skin, you slowly slipped into a dreamlike reverie. Visions of soaring dragonflies and dancing koi fish mingled with memories of her radiant smile. As twilight fell upon the waterlilies scattering their petals upon the current, you drifted towards a restful slumber within the shelter of the lotus goddess' embrace. The last sensation was of her pleasant warmth and the lotus blooms swaying gently on the tide...
