"The Blue Gift of the Wise Koi", painted by dawnxisoul393
The blue koi fish comes to us with the gift of wisdom - "Richard Bandler's method of self-transformation - meditation" - to empower us with the needs of life and work. Like the spirit of the vast blue ocean, it brings radiant and divine energy.
Richard Bandler, one of the founders of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the world's foremost authority on NLP, and a renowned hypnotist, pioneered NLP in the early 1970s. John Grinder, a linguist, and Richard Bandler, a mathematician, psychotherapist, and computer expert, developed the results of their long-standing research into a life-changing discipline - NLP, that is now used in business, marketing, government, athletics, and personal development, attracting a large and growing following around the world. The number is growing. As the application of NLP expands into more and more areas of life, its impact becomes more and more profound. Its simple but profound concepts and track record of success in practice have brought it considerable growth. Today, NLP is challenging the status of traditional psychology and making many books on self-development and positive thinking seem incomplete and outdated.
Richard Bandler has proposed a method for treating mental illness and helping people achieve self-transformation - Meditation. His theoretical underpinning is NLP (mind-body-language programming, N-neuro-neuro, L-linguistic language, P-programming). NLP decodes people's thought patterns to discover the patterns behind human thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and boils them down to a set of programs that can be replicated and imitated. This program is a series of thinking exercises proposed by Richard, and all these exercises are teaching us to learn to meditate and to change the thinking patterns of our brain through meditation. According to Richard's theory, the human brain has two modes of thinking, which boil down to the target mode of thinking and the awareness mode of thinking. In general, the various ideas and thoughts in our brain are target-oriented. From the moment we wake up in the morning, we think about washing up in time to avoid missing the shuttle bus to work and being late, and once we encounter traffic congestion, we start to get anxious.
When we get to the office and start working, we are trying to accomplish one task goal after another, and our brain is thinking about moving from one goal to another, never-ending. And the more we think about getting rid of anxiety, the more anxious we become, falling into a vicious cycle. In fact, we can activate another mode of thinking in our brain: "Awareness Thinking", which is to shift our attention from focusing on goal achievement to focusing on our feelings in the present moment. The way to activate the awareness mode is to meditate, and there are two basic actions to enter the meditative state: awareness and acceptance. Awareness is the process of pulling our minds out of the chaos of thoughts, goals, and emotions and feeling the presence of those thoughts, goals, and emotions. Meditation allows us to break the chain of vicious circles caused by target-oriented thinking patterns, thus allowing us to have more inner peace.
In fact, NLP theory is not only practical psychology with significant results, but it also contains a whole set of philosophical ideas - the ideas of Buddhism. The word meditation itself is a Buddhist term, and NLP theory itself was developed by Richard after studying the Buddhist system of thought. In Buddhist philosophy, happiness is not about subjective feelings of pleasure or meaningful life, but about letting go of the pursuit of subjective feelings. The real source of suffering does not lie in the feelings themselves, but in the constant pursuit of feelings. When people encounter things, they usually have desires, and desires always cause dissatisfaction. When one encounters something one does not like, one wants to avoid it; when one encounters something one likes, one wants to maintain and increase the pleasure. Thus, the mind is always dissatisfied and always restless. And most of us place too much importance on our feelings, thinking that pleasure is a pleasure and unpleasant feelings are suffering.

Thus, humans desire to have pleasure and want to avoid unpleasant feelings. If we place too much importance on our feelings, we become too obsessed, and the mind becomes restless and feels dissatisfied. Whenever we encounter unpleasantness, we feel afflicted. And even if we get pleasure, we can't feel satisfied because we want it to increase or fear that it will decrease. The pursuit of our subjective feelings is very draining and we are constrained by the pursuit itself. In order for people to accept the nature of things in their minds and let go of their desires, knowing that suffering is suffering and pleasure is pleasure, Sakyamuni developed a set of meditation techniques to train the mind to feel the nature of things and let go of desires. By training the mind to focus on "What am I feeling right now?" Instead of asking, "Why me?" If one wants to be free from suffering, one must understand that all one's subjective feelings are only momentary fluctuations, and stop pursuing certain feelings.
In this way, although you feel pain, you no longer feel misery, and although it is pleasant, it no longer disturbs the peace of mind. As a result, the mind becomes clear and at ease. The peace of mind thus created is so powerful that it is completely unimaginable to those who have spent their lives in a frenzied pursuit of pleasurable feelings. It is like someone who has been standing on the beach for decades, always trying to catch the "good waves" so that they will stay forever, and at the same time trying to avoid some of the "bad waves" in the hope that they will never come near. So day after day, the man stood on the beach in vain, by his own exhaustion almost crazy. Finally, he ran out of breath and sat down on the beach, letting the waves come and go freely. Suddenly, he realized how peaceful this was. Sometimes our path seems too dark, too painful, or too difficult, and the associated memories and scars lead to inner pain, fear, or feelings of unworthiness struggling within us.
We may be hurt and feel vulnerable, we may not have the strength to face the challenges before us. A blue koi swims happily and splashes joyfully. It heals us with love and tells us to believe that without winter, there is no spring. There is always a right time for everything. After experiencing true darkness, we will be able to welcome the beautiful birth of light. As we breathe, focus our awareness and feel the blue koi fish swimming around us as we are surrounded by a gentle blue light and enjoy the peaceful flow, even if our hearts have been traumatized or there is some obstacle in front of us that looks scary and something needs to be fixed. The Blue Koi will comfort us and soothe our hearts in a gentle way, it gently tells us that a wise person never dwells on a past that no longer exists, a wise person accepts the unchangeable history and learns from mistakes.
