Lotus Goddess - Snail Spirit》, painted by dawnxisoul393

In the waters of the lotus pool, in the fragrance over the damp earth, in the reflection of the lush green leaves, the Lotus Goddess whispers with her animal companions. The lotus blossoms beautifully in the breeze, and the sounds of the water waves stirred by the koi fishes bring healing to us. The voice of the Lotus Goddess says that when we spend too much time and energy focusing on our goals, we overlook and miss many of the beautiful things that happen along the way. When we rush forward with the belief that we can accomplish everything, we need to be as calm and steady as a small snail. Putting too much pressure and stress on ourselves does not help progress, it hinders it. Trust in our own pace and process and enjoy the moment. Use our time wisely, make a reasonable plan, and schedule time for our daily progress towards our goals.

Proper time management will allow us to accomplish everything and fill us with confidence and joy. Take a deep breath, feel the fresh air in your nostrils, breathe in energy and awareness, and exhale stress and tension. We may ask ourselves what we want to do at this moment. Let go of the past, don't be afraid of the future, focus on the present, every progress is created through action. There is nothing wrong with pursuing life goals, but when we dwell on the past or focus too much on the future, we sacrifice the quality of life in the present. We create and carry worries and tensions in our minds. Watching people sitting in the bus or subway, some of them anxious and restless, they seem to be perpetually on the going and can't wait to be under immense pressure at the next stop, heading straight for their future.

The separation from the present creates conflict and pain in our minds, and worst of all, we treat worry and anxiety as normal reality. Our minds seem to keep telling us that we don't care about the present moment, we care about our future. The truth, however, is that we will never be able to achieve our goals and realize our dreams by worrying. The only way is to learn from the little snail, to live in the moment, to take action, slowly and steadily, always getting the moment right first. Slow down, live in balance, be happy and live meaningfully. "The snail is climbing up step by step with its heavy shell. Two orioles on the tree are laughing at it." The lyrics of "The Snail and the Oriole", a popular school song in Taiwan, tell a funny story in the narrator's voice about a snail climbing up a vine with a heavy shell on its back when the vine is just sprouting, while the orioles are laughing at it.

Many years ago this song was so popular that it was sung by everyone in the streets. The song's lively melody and lively lyrics are a metaphor for the tenacious spirit of people in everyday life who are determined to pursue their goals despite hardships. The snail, a cute little elf, is brown all over, and at a rough glance, it looks like an insignificant little grain of earth. The snail is a representative of very hard to use all their own to face the difficulties of more powerful than their own, the snail although crawling more slowly, but always crawl hard with a strong belief, it is not to hide in the shell, it is to protect themselves, in order to move forward to a greater goal.

The life span of a snail is usually 5 to 6 years. In uncomfortable living conditions, the life span of snails will be shortened. Snails like dark, moist, and hidden environments, ambling around at night, and are sensitive to bright light stimulation. Snails like to burrow into loose humus soil to roost, lay eggs. Snails like humidity and are afraid of flooding, which can suffocate them. Once hatched, young snails crawl and feed without maternal care. When infested by enemies, its head and feet retract into the shell and secrete mucus to seal the shell opening. When the shell is damaged and disabled, it can secrete certain substances to repair the flesh and shell. The snail has an amazing ability to survive, with a high tolerance for cold, heat, hunger, and drought. The temperature is between 25 and 28°C for vigorous growth, development, and reproduction.

Snails are hermaphroditic and heterozygous, and both sexes lay eggs but must exchange sperm with their counterparts to reproduce. After 10 days of conception, both sexes can lay eggs, and the eggs can hatch into baby snails after 8 days. The common snail can lay eggs six to seven times per year per snail, with an average of 200 eggs each time. The snail is an animal that includes many different families and genera. They feed on plants and lay their eggs in the soil or on trees. They are more common in tropical islands, but some also survive in colder regions. Arboreal species are brightly colored, while the ground-dwelling ones are usually close to the color of the land and usually have stripes. The African genus of crystal snails is the largest in size, mostly exceeding 20 centimeters. The snail is the most dentate animal in the world. Although its mouth is about the size of a pinhead, it has more than 25,600 teeth.

Once hatched, the young snail crawls and feeds without the need for maternal care. When the snail is infested by enemies, its head and feet retract into its shell and secrete mucus to seal the shell opening. When the snail's shell is broken, it can secrete certain substances to repair the shell. The snail grows and reproduces vigorously in a temperature environment between 25 and 28°C, but it also has a high tolerance for cold, heat, hunger, and drought. When crawling, the snail also leaves a line of mucus on the ground, which is a fluid secreted from its body and is not dangerous even when walking on the edge of a knife. The snail likes to live in a dark and humid environment with weeds, lush crops, soft soil, and rich humus, diving during the day and moving at night, but sometimes it comes out to feed on rainy days. When the temperature is low and the environment is dry or too wet, the snail hides in a sheltered place from light and sleeps.

Doris remembers that when she was in high school, her teacher experimented with her students in class and found that an adult snail could pull a toy that was 100 to 200 times its weight, making it a true "Hercules". Snails are very resistant to starvation, and we read a documented account of two Egyptian snails that had been made into specimens and deposited in a museum, one of which was still alive several years later. Snails are widely distributed and extremely diverse, varying greatly depending on the environment, such as white snails in Africa, variegated snails in the Americas, Kui snails in Southeast Asia that are not eaten by birds and animals, and colorful snails in Cuba that are very cute and colorful. In addition, according to some medical literature, snails can be used medicinally, with beneficial effects on water, swelling, and detoxification, while "snailin", after processing and refining, is good medicine to calm asthma, relieve pain and fight scurvy.

The snail is indefatigable, persistent, step by step forward perseverance, that upward spirit, is worth learning from us. The snail has a noble heart and its own principles, even though it knows that it crawls very slowly, but still goes forward and never gives up. It never feels inferior for its smallness, never envy the rabbit's active legs, it has the spirit of challenge, no matter it is a day or two, a year or two, even if it consumes its whole life, it still has to fight to reach, this is the persistence of the snail. The snail, under the corner, in the grass, in the cracks of the rocks, you can see this unassuming creature everywhere, the snail is unattractive, but its small body carries a heavy shell, that shell is its home when it is wandering around, only that home can protect it when it encounters difficulties.

Illustrated by dawnxisoul393

The snail moves its body only by muscle movement and the friction of the ground, and it keeps secreting water to keep its body moist, leaving traces of movement on the ground, which increases the difficulty of moving, plus the "house" on its body, the pressure is great, so it has to crawl slowly. Although the snail carries a heavy shell and takes difficult steps, one step is a mark. The pyramid is the peak of human ancient architecture, it has become the coordinates of the height of human spirituality. The warriors who once climbed the pyramid saw the eagle standing proudly at the tip of the tower from afar before climbing it, and to their surprise, when they climbed to the tip, they found the snail's footprints by accident. Therefore, the world says, nature can reach the top of the pyramid only two kinds of animals, one is the eagle, one is the snail.

Illustrated by dawnxisoul393

The eagle relies on its talent and a pair of wings, it can fly to the sky, relying on its strong wings, through the clouds, to be able to reach the top of the pyramid in a rapid manner. The snail, on the other hand, does not have the gift of flight, much less the wings to travel the skies, and is carrying a heavy shell that is particularly slow to move, all of which will make the snail climb up, and fall down, and climb up, and fall down again in the process of climbing. It climbs upward step by step, just a little longer, a day, two days, a month, two months, or even a lifetime. But the snail, through its own unremitting efforts and spirit of not giving up, finally reaches the top of the pyramid. When the snail reaches the top, it sees the same scenery as the eagle sees, the difference is that the snail will gain more insight and experience in the process of unremitting efforts.

The snail recognizes its own direction, will always persistently and slowly move upward, and always focus on persevering in this direction, and will one day reach the top. There are many aspects of human beings that are no match for a small snail. If we have not seen a snail climbing upward, we will not understand that success is not easy to come by. Humble snails win because they never give up. The snail relies on the persistent spirit of never stopping to become the best to reach the top of the pyramid. Diligence and persistence are equally important virtues needed to achieve success. Time is precious every day, and making the most of it to do something meaningful is as important as persistence. For example, if we seize the time and complete the first stage first, we will have sufficient time to think about and implement the next stage, and we can do better.

An old fable says that a frog and a snail accidentally fell into a dried well at the same time. The snail crawled much more slowly than the frog, but it kept climbing upward moment by moment. The frog climbed faster than the snail, but it stopped climbing. The frog thought: "I now take a nap before climbing the well, and I might even be faster than the snail". So, the frog slept a lot. The snail did not stop climbing up. Finally, the snail climbed out of the well, the frog is still sleeping at the bottom of the well. The fable cautions us not to procrastinate in doing things, dragging, in the end, can only waste the precious time of life. We will not know the experiences of the snail's life, but we can see the shining footprints left by the snail, representing perseverance and self-improvement.

The story of the snail tells us that the tiny snail carries a heavy shell on its back, and by its own strength, even if it is heavy, even if the wind and rain blow, they climb upward step by step to where they want to go. We should learn from the spirit of the snail to accomplish our own goals. Although the snail crawls slowly, it still moves forward, the eagle flies through the clouds, the snail crawls inch by inch. If you let the eagle fly inch by inch, his wings will lose their original value. If you are an eagle, spread your wings and fly high, if you are a snail, take one step at a time - you can also go to your ideal paradise. Do your best and do what you can do - that is the success of life. If one day we see a snail climbing up the wall again, we should look at it with admiration and learn from it.

Although the snail climbs slowly, it is always moving upwards, never stopping. Although snails are small and insignificant, their faith in perseverance is higher than in the sky. The snail symbolizes the spirit of unremitting efforts, and we need to uphold this persistent snail spirit. The snail's goal is very firm, and it does not stop moving toward its goal because of the influence of external circumstances. God created the snail's heavy shell and forged its strength. Many people who have made brilliant achievements have the spirit of perseverance like the snail, that is, they can persevere to the end of a thing they have decided to do, not be afraid of difficulties, and will not give up until they have achieved their goals, to be a calm stroller and an eternal climber. We praise the spirit of the snail, although carrying a heavy burden and taking difficult steps, but one step at a time.

We praise the persistence of the snail, which is full of hope and keeps moving forward despite the long road and uncertain future. We praise the snail's hard work, although the harvest is very little, the foot is on the ground, step by step from the foot to do. It's impossible for everything in life to be without setbacks. We cannot have the talent to fly like an eagle, with a pair of wings to roam the sky. More often than not, we may be ordinary, but, through persistent efforts, we will eventually have the opportunity to reach our destination. What we need is to be able to find the right goal and persevere in our efforts. We tend to stop as soon as we encounter difficulties, and then find various excuses for our weakness to keep ourselves from continuing to work hard, and eventually get nowhere.

The closer we get to success, the more difficulties we may encounter and the more patience we need. With the spirit of a snail, we can firmly climb the mountain of our own life.

Daniel recalls an incident from his childhood when a naughty Daniel was treading water in the yard with an umbrella on a stormy day. Daniel saw a large brown coffee-colored snail under a bay tree in the corner of the yard. The large snail had laid many snail eggs, which were white, somewhat transparent, brightly colored, and very small. Daniel used an umbrella to protect the snail and the snail eggs from the rain, but he got soaked and was reprimanded by his mother when he returned to his own room. Daniel was so aggrieved that he ran out of the room and back into the yard where he found the snail and the snail's egg, and he remembered that he cried for a long, long time at that time. Suddenly, he felt the rain stopped, he opened his teary eyes, and a figure appeared beside him, it was his mother. His mother held an umbrella in her hand to protect him from the rain.

Daniel looked at the umbrella and instantly understood that he was a little snail, and his mother and the umbrella were the snail's shell, sheltering him from the wind and rain, and when the snail was exposed to the wind and rain, it could shrink back into the tiny shell, and even if it cried, it cried in the shell. And that shell, the shell of love, the mother's love, is the hardest and strongest shell in the world. Love is the most powerful force in the world, love is great, being loved is happy, mother, is our shelter, is the cradle of our growth. When we first called out "Mama", our mothers were full of smiles and surprises, they put us from their arms on the ground, let us crawl, let us stand, let us walk, and when we fell down, they picked us up and encouraged us to continue walking.

From then on, we started a whole new life by ourselves. Mothers are so ordinary, and mother's love is so great. Our first lesson in life started with communication and understanding with our mother's heart. We all have to be independent when we grow up, but our mothers are always our backbones, always our loves, and always our homes. Mother's loves were like the orange lights on the tables when we did our homework late at night, which made us feel full of energy around us. Mother's loves were like the boats that brought us to the other side of success, mother's loves were like the bright lamps that illuminated our directions, mother's loves were like the signposts at the crossroads that guided us to our goals of success. Because of our mothers' company, we were no longer alone, because of our mothers' tolerances, we were no longer capricious. When the storms came, when the setbacks came, when the hardship came, we didn't be afraid, because there would be mothers' loves to support a blue sky for us.

Mothers' loves were the supports when we fell, a breeze to wipe away our tears when we were in pain. Mothers' loves were like an idyllic poem, far away and pure, mothers' loves were like a landscape painting, leaving a natural freshness, mothers' loves were like a song of pure emotion, melodious, mothers' loves were like a warm spring breeze, bringing spring lights. Mothers' loves were the earnest expectation of our growth, mothers' loves were like a lifetime of companionship. Mothers' loves were like the laughter of a lifetime together, mothers' loves were the wisps of longing that wander the world. Years later, Daniel recalled that day when tears accompanied by rainwaters soaked his mother's clothes, and he said that his only thought at that moment was to be a small snail loved by his mother for the rest of his life.

In the small yard of Daniel's childhood home, after the rain in the shade of the house or under the trees, there was a piece of wet ground, then it could see some snails crawling on it, snails first out of the horns and then out of the head, only to see the small soft horns from the snail shell out to look around, there was no movement and then extended half of the body slowly crawling forward, snails carrying a heavy shell difficult to move forward. After the day cleared, he came back to see that the snails had left the trails on the ground after crawling, and some of the snails had climbed onto the grapevines and some had climbed into the trees. The adults said that the snails were in heaven when they climbed up the trees and vines, where there were abundant dews and leaves for them to eat. One day, when Daniel went to school, he found several snails on the wall next to the yard gate one meter above the ground, not moving at all.

Illustrated by dawnxisoul393

A few days passed, the snails still stayed where they were and did not move, Daniel thought these snails chose the wrong path, a path of death. During the night, It rained a little bit. In the morning, when Daniel went to school, he deliberately looked at the wall of the front door again. The small flowers on the vines of the lovely plants on the wall blooming beautifully in the warm morning sunlight. He found that the snail on the wall a few days ago was gone, he wondered if it died and fell to the ground, but he searched for a long time on the ground, but there was no trace of it. When Daniel was depressed, he inadvertently looked up and saw that the snail had climbed to the top of the wall nearly three meters high and was still alive. Daniel's depressed heart was enlightened, he was curious, in this drywall, they are how to re-energy to continue to climb up?

Illustrated by dawnxisoul393

After careful observation, he found a shallow watermark, this watermark is the previous night when it rained water from the top of the wall, the little snails on the basis of this life watermark to generate life energy, climbing up the wall. Daniel couldn't help but be impressed by the ability of these tiny snails to survive. Later in his undergraduate studies at university, Daniel looked up a lot of information about snails. In fact, snails have an amazing ability to survive, with a strong tolerance for cold, heat, hunger and drought. When a snail has no food and water to find, it will seal its shell with mucus and then enter a resting state so it can stay hungry for a long time. In the absence of food and water, snails seal their shells with mucus and enter a resting state, many in the soil, where they can survive on moisture.

Illustrated by dawnxisoul393

When snails hibernate in winter or summer, the mucus secreted by the foot glands dries up and forms a film at the mouth of the shell, sealing the body tightly and breaking the film when the external environment is suitable. Specimens of snails stored in specimen rooms can stay alive for several years because they are protected by a membrane. Dormancy is a habit of snails to resist adversity and maintain life by protecting themselves. When a snail encounters unfavorable conditions such as high temperature, low temperature, lack of food and shortage of water, it will automatically secrete mucus to form a film dimple and seal the mouth of the shell until the adversity is lifted, then it will gradually wake up and break the film and continue its activities. The dormancy period of snails can be as long as 6 months, which means that snails can stay dormant for 6 months without dying even if they don't eat or move.

Nature is so magical, whether you are noble or lowly, God will give every life the same living environment and survival conditions.

- The End.
